Xiaomi has officially introduced its latest Android 16-based HyperOS 3 user interface for its smartphones, tablets, and other home IoT devices. It brings new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered features and customisation options. The upcoming Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max are expected to run HyperOS 3 out of the box, while older devices will see it through an OTA update.
Xiaomi HyperOS 3: New features
The HyperOS 3 update introduces HyperIsland, which resembles Apple's Dynamic Island. It will display important notification information at a glance, allowing users to view live activities directly from their home screen. The tool features a dual-island design that allows for switching, expanding, or managing tasks without leaving the current screen, and also displays the charging speed when the phone is plugged in.
With this user interface, Xiaomi will also introduce a new suite of AI features with HyperAI. It includes writing tools, like smart screen recognition and DeepThink mode. Users can also ask HyperAI to change the writing style and tone. Further, the HyperOS 3 update introduces AI-based speech recognition that will record, transcribe in real-time and provide summaries as well.
Xiaomi is also introducing AI Search with HyperAI, allowing users to summarise search results, search on-device content, and receive AI-generated answers. Xiaomi users will also get AI Dynamic Wallpaper and AI Cinematic Lock Screen with HyperOS 3. Xiaomi is bringing the HyperOS 3 update from October to its upcoming devices. The newly launched Xiaomi 15T Pro, Xiaomi 15T, Watch S4 (41mm), Smart Band 10, and the upcoming Xiaomi 17 series will run this user interface out of the box.
