Pakistan's Haris Rauf pleads not guilty for 6-0 gesture.

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf entered a not guilty plea during the ICC hearing held on Friday, September 26 following his '6-0' gesture during the India vs Pakistan game, reported IndiaToday. The speedster has been at the center of controversy following his actions in the Asia Cup Super 4s encounter, where his gestures toward Indian supporters were deemed provocative.

The incident occurred on September 21 when Indian fans in the stands began chanting Virat Kohli's name referencing the memorable two sixes the India batter had hit off Rauf at the MCG in the 2022 T20 World Cup which took the game away from Pakistan.

In reaction, Rauf responded with mocking hand signals, mimicking the motion of bringing down an aircraft — a move widely interpreted as a jibe linked to India’s military operations.

Rauf even abused India openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill to which the pair replied with their bat by thrashing the Men in Green bowling lineup all over the park.

As report by IndiaToday, Rauf said that 6-0 gesture meant nothing and it was not aimed towards India. He even asked the ICC personnel what they assumed to which they did not gave an answer.

According to PTI, Rauf is likely to face a fine for using abusive language and displaying aggressive gestures during Sunday’s match against India.

Rauf's teammate Sahibzada Farhan also appeared infront of the ICC personnel for his celebration during the game which was a gun-shot celebration. The opener said it was not political and said even former India captains Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni have done a similar celebration in the past.

“They are likely to be fined and given demerit points, but there will be no match ban on either of the two," a tournament source told PTI.

Rauf has been fined 30 per cent of his match fees for rude and aggressive behavior. His teammate Farhan, however, escaped with a warning without any financial penalty for his open air gun-shot celebration after completion of his half century in the same match.

"Match referee Richie Richardson had completed his hearing on Friday afternoon at the team hotel. Hars Rauf has been fined 30 percent of his match fees for aggressive behaviour and Farhan has been let off with a warning," a tournament source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
