MS Dhoni is in the twilight of his cricketing career, a fact that is well known to the CSK veteran. Dhoni was retained by the franchise as an uncapped player for Rs 4 crore ahead of the mega auction, which was after BCCI revised the rules for players with international experience.
While Dhoni remains an integral part of the CSK setup, a suspense follows every time "Thala" - a moniker fondly associated with him - steps on the field. Is this the last time we are watching Dhoni in the IPL?
While for those wondering, retirement is inevitable but Dhoni himself chose to address the subject during the post-match presentation ceremony after the IPL encounter between KKR and CSK at the Eden Gardens, which the latter won by two wickets. Dhoni acknowledged the massive support he has received in the last few season before hinting retirement is something he is not thinking about at the moment.

"That is the love and affection I have gotten throughout. Not to forget I am 42 - I have played a long time. A lot of them don't know when it is going to be my last time (smiles), so they want to come and see me play. There is no escaping the fact (that I am in the last phase of my career). After this IPL gets over, I have to work hard for another 6-8 months to see if my body can take this pressure. Nothing to decide now but the love and affection I have seen is excellent," said Dhoni as he casually updated the fans of his immediate future plans.
While we are talking about retirement, India's premier batter Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from Tests on Wednesday and confirmed that he'll continue to play ODIs. Rohit had announced retirement from T20Is after leading the Men In Blue to their second glory in World T20s last year. He continues to play for Mumbai Indians but is mostly utilised as an Impact Substitute.
