DJB employee held for raping girl on false promise of marriage

New Delhi, Feb 27 (PTI) A junior engineer of Delhi Jal Board was arrested here for allegedly raping a 22-year-old girl on the false promise of marriage, police said today. The incident was reported from Jamia Nagar. "The victim lives along with her family. The accused used to visit her house and developed friendship with her. He developed physical relation with her on the pretext of marriage," police said quoting the victim. However, the accused started ignoring her and the victim decided to approach police. A medical examination confirmed rape and the engineer was arrested. PTI SJY RAI
