According to preliminary survey data, the gold deposits are spread across an estimated 100 hectares, and experts believe the quantity could run into lakhs of tonnes. If fully confirmed, this would place Jabalpur among the most mineral-rich zones in India and could dramatically reshape the region’s economic future. (Representational image: Pixabay)

The team carried out soil sampling across Mahgawan Keolari and confirmed the presence of not just gold, but also copper and other valuable metals through chemical analysis. "The evidence is conclusive," said a senior official from the department, adding, "The chemical tests confirm substantial traces of gold, along with copper and other precious minerals. This could be one of the most important mineral discoveries in central India in recent years." (Representational image: Pixabay)
This isn’t the first time gold has been found in Madhya Pradesh. A few years ago, a gold deposit was discovered in the neighboring Katni district. However, the Jabalpur find is a new and promising development, opening up a new chapter in the state’s mining history. (Representational image: Pixabay)
