Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh on Friday said 23 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the national capital till Thursday and the government has issued an advisory asking all hospitals to prepare for availability of beds, oxygen, medicines and vaccine.
He said that the govt is verifying the details whether patients are residents of Delhi or have travel history outside the city.
"The Delhi government is fully prepared to deal with any situation. We have already coordinated with all medical superintendents, doctors, and their teams across hospitals in the capital," Singh said in a statement.
He further said that in view of the situations, hospitals and healthcare facilities have been placed on alert, and all necessary resources are being mobilised.
Additionally, the health department is continuously monitoring the situation closely and will provide timely updates.
Singh said that citizens are advised to follow all health and safety guidelines and cooperate with authorities as needed.
Meanwhile, a total of 35 active Covid 19 cases have been reported in Karnataka, till date, of which, 32 were reported in Bengaluru. However, no death due to covid has been reported.
The state government advised that, pregnant women, children, immune-compromised persons & those with co-morbid conditions should wear face masks, while visiting crowded places. Steps like maintaining hand – hygiene, using hand sanitizer may also be followed.
Additionally, those with symptoms of Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI), should consider getting tested for Covid on priority, for timely treatment as well
as to check further spread of Covid -19.
